Another Phony "Lifelong Republican"
So, I run across this letter to the editor to jacksonville.com:
This guy is way too damned obvious he's a phony. Yet another Democrat masquerading as a Republican.
A search shows he has written a couple other letters to the same paper, always pretending to be a Republican:
Letter from 2006
Letter from 2008
Here is his bio. He is a management consultant. His resume is impressive, but he ought to grow up mentally. Posing as a "lifelong Republican" in letters to the editor is a pretty childish thing to do.
RUSH LIMBAUGH
Hurting the GOP
As a lifelong Republican, it is distressing to see the power that Rush Limbaugh wields over my party. How will it be possible for bipartisan leadership to take hold when you have such a bad influence holding my party hostage?
Democrats are our worthy competition, not our enemies.
I know many fellow GOP stalwarts who are sick and tired of party-first and ideology-first politics. Rush is hoping for President Barack Obama to fail in his efforts to clean up the economic mess that, quite honestly, our party had a lot to do with creating.
That so many cheer his ultra-conservative jihad is deeply troubling.
It is indeed possible to be so far right that you become wrong. Too far left is no better, but Obama is more balanced than that.
Let's ditch the conservative vs. liberal labeling and posturing and really try bipartisanship. This doesn't mean we'll always get our way.
Let's come together as Americans, and honestly face the limits of any type of "my way or the highway" thinking.
